Bruce oversees the company’s Marketing and Advertising divisions as well as serving as a Senior Executive Coach specializing in both Sales Management and High Impact Coaching.
Bruce began his business career in Mortgage Banking after completing college in 1982. Always self-directed, early on in his career Bruce created numerous action plans including a company driven data base management system to generate repetitive business and by penning an internal publication entitled “A Loan Officers Guide to Realtor Relationships” which helped to increase the company’s overall production exponentially. The publication was widely used as the initial model for “Relationship Based Selling” in the mortgage industry.
Bruce’s thirty year mortgage banking career included working for both smaller independently owned mortgage lenders as well as national firms where he often delivered unprecedented shareholder value to company stockholders and even assisted one company in becoming one of the first independently owned mortgage bankers to exceed one billion dollars in retail production.
While being widely acknowledged in the industry as a mentor, coach and trainer for building and “Top Grading” staffing, as well as increasing company productivity and profitability to unprecedented levels, he continued to produce loans himself consistently setting and exceeded sales goals. He has been recognized by a number of organizations as a top producer consistently being number one in personal production for a number of Michigan corporations earning the title “President’s Club” award winner numerous times.
In April of 2004, he formed his own company North Star Home Lending. His mission: Building relationships through knowledge, understanding and compassion. The following year his company was rated by Crain’s Magazine as one of “Michigan’s Top Five Leading Gainers.
It was also during this time that he constructed, from the knowledge he had attained in building relationships, the foundation for the sales coaching he now uses with those who have hired him to increase the productivity and profitability of their corporations. He has a passion for sharing with others and helping them increase and maximize their sales potential.
After a successful six year run, he sold the company to Main Street Bank, a local community bank looking to enlarge its residential financing presence, where he accepted a consulting role as the bank’s Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.
Often requested to be a keynote speaker at many corporate functions, he was the host of “The North Star Home Lending Hour” on local Detroit talk-radio and a frequent guest on many other radio and television shows as well as having been profiled in many local publications, including both the Detroit News and Free Press.
